Abstract

The transformation of Islamic education organizations is a strategic need in the face of global disruption, the development of digital technology, and social changes in modern society. This study aims to analyze how adaptive leadership plays a role in encouraging the transformation of Islamic education organizations in madrassas and Islamic schools in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design on several Islamic educational institutions. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that adaptive leadership has a significant contribution to the transformation of Islamic education organizations through strengthening innovative organizational culture, digitizing educational administration, developing human resource competencies, improving the quality of learning, and strengthening collaboration between education stakeholders. Adaptive leadership allows Islamic educational institutions to build organizational flexibility in the face of changing modern educational environments without abandoning spiritual values and Islamic identity. In addition, research has found that the success of organizational transformation is influenced by leaders' ability to build participatory communication, collective learning, and responsive decision-making to adaptive challenges.
